Garment-washed European flax, woven in Kerala. Creases honestly and cools quickly.

Description

Garment-washed linen dyed with iron and myrobalan, which produces a soft charcoal rather than a flat black. Column cut, side seam pockets, covered buttons to the waist. It creases within the hour and looks better for it.

Fabric & care

Flax spun in Europe, woven and garment-washed in Kannur. We specify a mid-weight at around 150 gsm — light enough for a Chennai September, substantial enough that a trouser hangs straight. Every metre is washed before cutting so the shrinkage happens to us rather than to you. Linen creases, and we have stopped apologising for it: a linen shirt that does not crease has been finished with something you would rather not wear.

Machine wash cold. Tumble low or line dry. Press damp on the reverse if you want it flat.
